Those tickets all sold out almost seven weeks ago.

Whilst the Newcastle United allocation sold out so quickly, Celtic struggling to sell due to their fans asked to pay £25 for the match.

Pretty standard pricing for friendlies these days, with Newcastle United charging £25 for adults when Atletico Madrid visit St James’ Park in August, that game already a 52,000 sell out.

However, Celtic fans thinking the £25 ticket price is far too much, in part, because their season ticket holders used to get at least one free friendly match as part of their season ticket.

Now with 17 days to go until the friendly, Celtic seemingly ready to supply Newcastle United fans with as many tickets as they want, to try and help fill Celtic Park.

Newcastle United haven’t announced (see below) exactly how many extra tickets, however, it is widely reported that the allocation has now risen to 10,000+ tickets.

So far, Celtic tickets only available to Newcastle United season ticket holders.

However, finally at last, this has now appeared on the NUFC ticketing site, as from 2pm today, a chance for some Newcastle United members to get to an away game, albeit a friendly, with a 24 hour ballot opening.
