Celtic have announced the arrival of exciting youngster Alexandro Bernabei from Argentine side Lanús.

The 20-year-old makes the move to Glasgow for a fee which Sky Sports put at £3.75 million, while his former club will recoup 10% of any future sale.

Bernabei has put pen to paper on a five-year deal with the Scottish champions.

Following the departure of Liam Scales on loan to Aberdeen, he will represent increased competition for current left-back Greg Taylor.

Bernabei had a disappointing end to his Lanús career, being harshly sent off for an innocuous headbutt in his final game.

He will also have the distinction of being the Hoops’ first ever Argentine player.
