Four children are among almost 50 people injured after a car ploughed into a crowd during Liverpool FC’s Premier League victory parade on Monday evening. Some 27 people were taken to hospital, and two suffered serious injuries – including a child. A 53-year-old white British man has been arrested and is believed to be the driver of the vehicle, Merseyside Police say. They aren’t treating the incident as terrorism.
The short Celtic statement, posted on the club’s official social media channels, reads as follows:
Some feedback to Celtic’s short statement amid some awful responses from trolls…
“Praying for all injured in this tragedy tonight in Liverpool,” …”Shocking what’s happened today in Liverpool, a day of celebration turned into horror thoughts and prayers go out to the city of Liverpool and the injured and everyone affected”…”God Bless, You’ll Never Walk Alone”…”YNWA to everyone who has been effected by this”…”It’s a horrible world we live in, humanity has taken an absolute beating from evil people from top to bottom and it continues without remorse or reason. I fear for our kids future. Pray for the people hurt or worse.”
The photos below show some of the joy that was around in Liverpool yesterday before this awful incident happened.

Just like in Aberdeen the day before, football supporters in Liverpool took to the streets to celebrate their team’s success. What started out as a joyous day for everyone involved turned into a tragedy. As someone stated above it really can be a horrible world that we live in.
Thoughts and prayers with everyone affected in Liverpool and you should know that You’ll Never Walk Alone.
