Yet, with his deal running out this summer, there are major doubts over O’Hare’s long-term future, with the Coventry boss admitting the player is weighing up his options.

And, it seems as though he could have plenty of choice, as Daily Mail reporter Tom Collomosse has revealed that both Celtic and Rangers are keeping tabs on O’Hare, along with three Spanish sides.

Believe up to three La Liga clubs will watch Callum O’Hare play for Coventry at West Brom on Friday. O’Hare out of contract this summer and free to agree terms with clubs outside England. Rangers/Celtic also monitoring.”

Callum O’Hare is a potential bargain

It’s no surprise to see that there is plenty of interest emerging in O’Hare, because he really is a classy player who has the potential to play on a bigger stage than the Championship.

His ability to beat a player with his dribbling, and his eye for a pass means he is a great watch for Coventry fans, who will no doubt be concerned by this update.

To pick up a player like that on a free transfer would be a shrewd bit of business for any club, and you would expect plenty of offers to arrive to the former Aston Villa man if he can stay fit and maintain his form for the final months of the campaign.

Coventry may need to win promotion to keep O’Hare

Even though it may be tempting to leave for big clubs like Celtic and Rangers, who will both be able to offer European football next season, O’Hare will appreciate all that Coventry have done for him, so it’s by no means a foregone conclusion that he will depart.

Plus, he is playing under a brilliant manager who has shown he can get the best out of him, as he has improved considerably since his arrival.

Nevertheless, the fact Scotland’s big two clubs are showing an interest, along with top-flight Spanish sides, just highlights the battle that Coventry have to keep him at the CBS Arena in the years to come.

Realistically, their best chance is going to be by winning promotion to the Premier League, which is the best league in the world in the eyes of many.

That would also give the Sky Blues the financial boost they need to offer the sort of wages that could entice O’Hare to stay.

Ultimately, there’s nothing imminent on this front, and O’Hare’s only focus will be on helping Coventry into the top six, and he will be determined to help them get a positive result in the huge game against West Brom at The Hawthorns on Friday night.
