With 42 goals scored in their 20 SPFL games this season, Celtic haven’t had much trouble finding the back of the net in this latest league campaign, despite being six points off the top spot.

However, with two weeks left until the January transfer window closes, it appears as though Ange Postecoglou is keen on adding some extra firepower to his Hoops side for the remainder of the season.

Big Fat Celtic Quiz of 2021 - can you get 100%? Question 1. How many managers have Celtic had in 2021?

One Two Three Four

What’s the latest?

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, transfer insider Pete O’Rourke had this to say on the possibility of Celtic looking to sign some new attacking players before the end of the current transfer window.

He said: “I could see that being the case, that Celtic are looking to strengthen (in attack). Obviously, we know that they’ve had lots of injury problems this season.

“James Forrest has been in and out of the side, Mikey Johnson struggled as well. So, a lot of it’s been down to Jota, who is just recovering from injury himself.”

Delight

Even though Celtic have been fairly active in the transfer market so far with a number of new players coming into the club such as Reo Hatate, Yosuke Ideguchi and Daizen Maeda, the fact that the Hoops are not resting on their laurels and looking to bring some attacking players to the club shows how serious they are at improving their side and making a serious push to win the SPFL title this season.

With Postecoglou’s team also boasting the best defensive record in the league this season with just 12 goals conceded, this shows that they don’t necessarily need to sign any new defenders unless any injury concerns arise, leaving them to fully focus on attacking reinforcements as O’Rourke claims could be a possibility before the deadline closes.

If Celtic were able to sign some new attacking players before the end of the month to back up the likes of Jota, Kyogo Furuhashi and Liel Abada in their squad that can hit the ground running in terms of scoring and creating goals, this will give the Hoops a great chance of usurping rivals Rangers this season, an eventuality that will delight a lot of fans.
