Celtic and Australia star Aaron Mooy has announced his retirement from the game at the age of 32.
The midfielder joined the Hoops last summer and played an important part in their domestic clean sweep as well as taking part in the World Cup with the Socceroos mid-season.
However, injuries have taken their toll on Mooy who insisted it is the perfect moment to hang up his boots.
“I’ve been fortunate to enjoy such a great career across the last 15 years and created some fantastic memories but I just feel the time is right,” he said.
“I’m delighted to finish my career on such a high with Celtic and I’d like to thank all the fans for the great support they gave me. I was delighted to be part of such a memorable season.”
Mooy was also a popular figure at St Mirren, Huddersfield, Brighton and Western Sydney Wanderers, while he also collected 57 caps for his country.
