Celtic made light work of St.Johnstone as they extended their winning run to 11 consecutive games to move nine points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership.

Scorers: Hatate 16′, 51′, Furuhashi 17′, 42′; Wright 67′.

Reo Hatate and Kyogo Furuhashi both bagged a brace as Ange Postecoglou’s side continued their remarkable form with a festive treat on display for the fans at Parkhead.

Hatate opened the scoring after just 16 minutes, taking advantage of some sloppy defending to unleash a shot from the edge of the box which took a nick off Drey Wright before ending up in the back of the net.

Furuhashi doubled that advantage within a minute, getting on to the end of Matt O’Riley’s ball to the front post to flick it home.

It was James Forrest who then set up Furuhashi for the third goal just before half-time before Hatate completed his brace at the start of the second period after getting on the end of a perfectly-weighted Callum McGregor pass before slotting home from close range.

Wright pulled one back for the visitors but the damage was done as Celtic extend their lead at the top again with Hibernian and Rangers to come next – however Postecoglou was dealt one grey cloud when midfielder David Turbull was sent off in stoppage time for a high boot on goalkeeper Remi Matthews.
