Bobby Manzi reports as follows:
‘Exclusive: Understand Celtic are interested in a reunion with Crystal Palace striker Odsonne Edouard. The Frenchman could become available with a deal nearing closer between Palace and Arsenal for Eddie Nketiah.’
Whether there’s anything in this one remains to be seem. Brendan Rodgers appeared to indicate that he was happy with Daizen Maeda as his third striker, rather than bring in a young player after Rocco Vata said thanks but no thanks to the Celtic manager’s offer.
It’s hard to see French Eddie coming back to Celtic with the club having just spent £9.5m on Adam Idah and with Kyogo fit again after a week on the sidelines due to the latest shoulder incident, this time at Easter Road. Kyogo of course has been linked with a move to English Champions Manchester City and that story came from the City side of things last week.

The only way that Celtic could possibly look to bring Odsonne Edouard back to the club would be if Kyogo was leaving.
Before the recent Adam Idah signing from Norwich, Odsonne Edouard was Celtic’s record signing, coming in from PSG. He got off to a great start at Palace but in last season his form dipped as did his confidence as he failed to score the required number of goals.
He was told at the end of the season that Palace were prepared to listen to offers and around that time he made a surprise appearance at the Celtic POTY awards at the Hydro, where Matt O’Riley, who today should complete his £30m move to Brighton, was named the Celtic Player of the Year.
Strangely enough Matt never got a song from the Celtic support but that certainly wasn’t the case with Edouard.
One to watch as the madness of the transfer window gets to the boiling point and you can expect the unexpected. A French Eddie return to Paradise? As Jamesy once asked ‘fancy it?’ Brendan Rodgers might…
