Kieran Tierney is set to play through the pain barrier for Celtic in the Scottish Cup final as he aims to help them to a treble treble.

The Bhoys face Hearts at Hampden on Saturday, with the Edinburgh outfit all that is standing between them and a third consecutive domestic clean sweep.

The defender has sat out each of Celtic’s last two games after the Scottish Premiership title was wrapped up, due to discomfort with a hernia problem.

However, he is in line to make his comeback at Hampden before undergoing an operation next week in a bid to correct the issue.

“The best thing for me is to have the operation as soon as I can but I’ve trained this week so I’m feeling okay,” Tierney told the assembled media.

“It started off as something else [a hip issue] and then led to this but it is nothing long term.

“The operation will fix it so that’s the good news.”

However, it is bad news for Scotland and their new manager Steve Clarke, who will be without Tierney for June’s Euro 2020 qualifiers against Cyprus and Belgium.

Following surgery, the Hoops academy product is set to be sidelined for three to six weeks, meaning he will miss Scotland’s upcoming double-header.
