After months of protracted negotiations, Celtic have finally secured the signing of Adam Idah from Norwich City on a permanent basis.

The Irishman signed on an initial loan deal in January and was key to the Hoops retaining their Premiership crown with several key strikes before crowning his spell off with a last minute winner against Rangers in the Scottish Cup final.

And he now returns for good, by signing in a transfer that could see him become Celtic’s record arrival.

Several reports, including from Sky Sports, claim that the Bhoys will pay an initial £8.5m to the Canaries which could rise to £9.5m based on performance-related bonuses which, if that materialises as expected, would see him eclipse Odsonne Édouard as their most expensive purchase.

Idah has signed a five-year deal upon his return to Parkhead.

He is the fourth summer signing for Celtic after the acquisitions of goalkeepers Kasper Schmeichel and Viljami Sinisalo, while Paulo Bernardo’s loan move was also made permanent.
