“The centre-back pairing have signed fresh two-year contracts with the Hoops, which will see them both remain at Celtic Park until the summer of 2026.

“After playing his part in the Under-18s’ Scottish Youth Cup final success in 2023, it has been a breakthrough year for Lenny Agbaire with the Celtic FC B team squad.

“The 19-year-old played a major role from the centre of defence as the young Hoops played out another busy campaign of competitive fixtures.

“Dane Murray is a player who has already had his first taste of senior football, making his debut in UEFA Champions League qualifying against FC Midjtylland back in 2021.

“However, the past two seasons have been hindered by long-term injury for the defender, who has worked hard to get back to full fitness once again.”

Ange Postecoglou gave Murray his debut in the early stages of his reign but Murray soon dropped out of the picture and some supporters speculated that he had left the club; however, it appears that Murray has been battling to get himself fit.

With Darren O’Dea being installed as a Pathways Manager at the club, young players will be eager that their passage from youth team talents to first team prospects can be managed. There are four Celtic players included in the Scotland squad, three of which came from the Celtic Academy – Callum McGregor, Tony Ralston and James Forrest.
