Celtic have confirmed that James Forrest has signed a new contract. The 33-year-old has penned a deal that will take him until the summer of 2026, suggesting that he will complete his playing days as a one-club man.
In an announcement on Saturday morning, Celtic confirmed the extension for Forrest.

Speaking to the club, Forrest admitted that he was delighted at the deal being done.
“It’s unbelievable. I’ve loved every minute of being here, from being a wee boy coming through the youth and all the ups that I’ve had playing for the first team.
“I’m just delighted that I’ve managed to work hard and hopefully I can keep contributing to the team for another year.
“There’s always been great players and managers at this club, and being a part of this club is a great feeling and once I finish my career I’ll properly look back and think about it all.
“When you’re in the bubble of it, there’s nothing better than playing and winning things here.”
Forrest has made 511 appearances for Celtic, netting 109 times and assisting on 107 occasions. In 14 years playing for Celtic, Forrest has won 24 major honours, making him one of the most decorated Celts of all time.
As stated at the AGM, guys like Forrest and Callum McGregor set the standards around the club and it is imperative to keep them around. Even if Forrest isn’t playing much, he showed that he can be relied upon when the manager needs him – like the tail end of last season.
