Brendan Rodgers admitted that he felt as if his side missed an opportunity in their 0-0 draw against Dinamo Zagreb. Celtic were lacklustre as they were held by the Croatian side in a result that takes Celtic to nine points in the competition and unbeaten in the last four games.
Speaking after the game, Rodgers was asked if he felt that the draw was a missed opportunity for his side to take all three points.
“Yeah. I think that’s my honest answer. We needed to do more, we needed to do more. We know that. And that’s good. If we were honest as a group, we knew that there was an opportunity for us there.
“You have to show that a little bit more in those moments when you arrive up and then too often it just came away from us.”
Celtic have not looked their sharp selves in the last two matches but the manager and players will know that they will have to lift their performance level for the Premier Sports Cup Final against Rangers.
Celtic have two games remaining and will be hoping to get three points during the next match against Young Boys in mid-January. Three points would take Celtic to twelve points and would almost certainly guarantee a place in the knockout round for a place in the Last 16.
