Ange Postecoglou refused to entertain speculation surrounding his future as Celtic boss ahead of this weekend’s Scottish Cup final.

Preparation for the Hoops, who are bidding to win a world record eighth treble against Inverness Caledonian Thistle, has been hindered somewhat by an increase in rumours linking the Australian to the vacant Tottenham job.

But he insisted that it isn’t even on his radar prior to the trip to Hampden.

“Somebody else was the favourite last week weren’t they?” he told the assembled media when discussing the Spurs stories.

“It doesn’t register with me. I get the interest and why people love to speculate on these things but we’ve worked really hard to put ourselves in this position so for me to let my mind wander and focus on anything else other than getting our team prepared for a big game on Saturday just isn’t who I am.

“People are asking as if it’s the first time this has happened to me. We’ve done this dance a few times this year. The players are well aware of where my thoughts lie.

“I woke up this morning thinking about one thing and it’s the same thing I’ve been thinking about for the last seven days. I really want to make sure we play well in this cup final and make it a truly special season.

“This club has had a lot of success recently, even in terms of trebles, but for myself or some of these players, it might be the only chance they get [to win one] so we need to focus completely on that.”

In addition to Postecoglou, the Telegraph report that Luis Enrique and Marco Silva also remain on Spurs’ three-man short list if the former Yokohama Marinos boss stays at Parkhead.
