Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou dismisses Tottenham interest ahead of Scottish Cup final | OneFootball

Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou is not thinking about interest from the Premier League as he aims to win the Scottish Cup this weekend.

The Bhoys face Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the final and can complete a domestic treble if they win.

Postecoglou has now secured back-to-back Scottish Premiership and League Cup wins.

He has won 82 of his 112 games in charge at Celtic – a record that has spiked interest from Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur.

Spurs sacked Antonio Conte after an unremarkable second season, and his assistant Cristian Stellini took over.

Stellini failed to improve their fortunes, so they sacked him and brought in Ryan Mason as interim boss.

Tottenham considered Julian Nagelsmann and Arne Slot for the role, but they ruled themselves out of the race. They now want Postecoglou.

However, the 57-year-old is focusing on his game against Inverness CT.

When asked whether he had thought about his future, Postecoglou said (via Sky Sports): “No, because I know that’s not how football works.

“I’ve been asked about these things plenty of times. What’s important for me is the here and now. I’ve never planned anything in my football career.

“You can’t, as a manager, chart a course for yourself to be in a certain position in a certain time.

“The one thing I do know for certain is that if you’re not concentrating on the task at hand, your destiny gets taken out of your hands.”

Postecoglou added that he was not thinking of anything beyond this week. He said the club deserves a manager concentrating on his duties.

Spurs still have their sights set on other managerial targets including Luis Enrique (unattached), Roberto De Zerbi (Brighton & Hove Albion) and Marco Silva (Fulham).
