I said yesterday that a win was the most important thing, and we got that win with three goals to boot…

However as we’ve done a few times this campaign, we failed to be consistent over the full 90 plus minutes. It was like last week in reverse. We were underwhelming in the first half and totally in command in the second.

Granted the blustery conditions contributed to the quality of play in the first half, but we looked very ineffective throughout the first period. Which is a concern because it isn’t the first time we have had to watch such below par performances this campaign at Celtic Park.

Credit though to the players who came out in that second half and performed much better and finished the game in a much more impressive manner. We were in no danger of losing the game as St Mirren didn’t threaten much, I doubt very much if they even had a shot on target. Which was rather bemusing as they started the game with a place in the top six guaranteed.

They played for a draw as their stifling tactics and annoying time wasting showed. In the end however our class prevailed. Reo Hatate once again proved how vital he is to our side when he scored the all important opening goal with a superb strike with the outside of his boot.

Further goals from Kyogo and Adam Idah put a more positive spin on the scoreline in a well deserved win and the three goalscorers were predicted on The Celtic Star yesterday morning by Lubo98!

It’s all about the three points, but the failure to be consistent for the entirety of the full 90 minutes is still a cause for concern.  Best of luck to Ross County today!
