That side being Celtic who ran out deserved winners in a 2-0 victory thanks to goals from Daizen Maeda and Adam Idah as we booked a semi Final slot at Hampden next month.
It was a game that Celtic controlled from start to finish against an inform Hibs side, and despite a couple of nervy moments we did more than enough to win the game as all the stats would suggest.
We could and should been well out of sight in the first half as Callum McGregor seen his shot well saved by Hibs keeper Jordan Smith, while Daizen Maeda uncharacteristically sent a shot over after been played in by an excellent ball over the top.

The Japanese striker made up for it moments later when he instinctively fired the ball into the net from close range after Jordan Smith pulled off a superb stop to deny Nicolas Kuhn.
Smith in the Hibs goal was having a blinder, and he kept his side in the game yet again by pulling off a great stop to deny a long range effort from Reo Hatate.

We didn’t create as many chances in the second period, but were still in full control of the game, with Hibs not really posing any sort of threat. However as with all 1-0 score lines it was a nervy position to be in, and the longer the game went on the tension increased ever so slightly.

Adam Idah eased those concerns when he fired home from a lovely cut back by the impressive Luke McCowan in injury time to seal the victory and a spot in the semi finals.
It was no more than we deserved, and it could have been by an even bigger margin if it wasn’t for the impressive Smith in the Hibs goal who denied us yet again by pulling off an another great stop to deny Daizen Maeda from grabbing his brace right at the death.
The final whistle sounded just after and it was job done, Hampden bound and the treble dream still very much alive.
