There’s not much to complain about  as we kept our one hundred percent record going after a 2-0 victory over Hearts, while also breaking a club record of successive clean sheets at the start of the season.

The only negative would be that we weren’t our usual free flowing selves and in the end it became a bit of a slog, but a wins a win, and a deserved one at that.

Hearts arrived with a game plan and it worked for a while until we opened the scoring through a superbly taken Arne Engels spot kick. The Belgian youngster didn’t look flustered under pressure and coolly placed his spot kick past Craig Gordon to score his first goal for the club, after Reo Hatate decided to offer the designated penalty taker to Brendan’s back-up kicker. Just as well he scored, Reo!

After that the result didn’t look in doubt, although there was a few nervous moments, but then Luke McCowan settled the nerves with a fine finish as he too opened his scoring account for the club. A disallowed goal in stoppage time was tough on Adam Idah, who is therefore still looking for his first of the season, but that will come. Good things come to those who wait!

Five wins out of five, 14 goals scored and none conceded. Not a lot to complain about is there really? Roll on Wednesday night and maybe enjoy some popcorn this afternoon as theRangers go to Tannadice under real pressure to close the eight points gap between them and both Celtic and Aberdeen.

Jim Goodwin and Dundee Utd are unlikely to do them any favours!
