A remarkable statistic, aptly highlighting the excellence of Celta Vigo star Óscar Mingueza over the early weeks of the season, has on Sunday come to the fore online.

Mingueza, for those not aware, has enjoyed an absolutely stellar individual opening to the 2024/25 campaign.

So impressive has the former Barcelona man looked, in fact, that he was this week afforded a first-ever call-up to the Spanish senior national team.

It is Mingueza’s production in the attacking third which has proven of particular note, exploits which continued on Sunday evening.

Whilst Celta Vigo were ultimately put to the sword by three goals to two at the hands of Osasuna, the 25-year-old laid on the assist for the Celestes’ first of the night.

This took Mingueza’s tally to two goals and three assists in four appearances thus far this season.
