Celta Viga starlet Gabri Veiga has completed a move to Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli.
The 21-year-old was one of Europe’s top prospects heading into the summer transfer window after playing a key role in keeping Celta in LaLiga last season.
Al-Ahli have met Veiga’s €35m release clause and it is believed he has put pen to paper on a three-year deal.
Veiga scored 11 goals across 56 senior appearances for Celta, having shone in the youth ranks for the LaLiga outfit.
While some of European football’s biggest hitters were keen on securing Veiga’s services, the Spaniard has shocked his suitors and joined the ever-growing list of players to make the move to the Saudi Pro League.
Serie A champions Napoli were reported to have agreed a deal with the midfielder before the u-turn.
He will join Édouard Mendy, Franck Kessié, Riyad Mahrez, Allan Saint-Maximin, and Roberto Firmino at Al-Ahli.
