Dani Ceballos has been speaking to the press ahead of Spain’s matches during this international break and the midfielder has revealed he’s ‘very happy’ at Arsenal and he’s hoping it lasts.

While it’s no surprise to hear him say hat he’s very happy, what is interesting is that in one breath Ceballos acknowledges that he’s only on loan for the season but in the next admits he’d like to be at Arsenal for a ‘long time’.

“My goal is to work to continue doing things well,” Ceballos said. “I still have eight months left at Arsenal, to whom I can only thank for the confidence that the coach and the fans have trusted me, they have even made me a song.

Another outlet reported his quotes as: “Real? My idea was clear from the beginning, to go away to play and have fun, which hadn’t happened in the last two years. It was a success to come to Arsenal and now I am in the place where I would like to be.

“In Madrid I was pretty good, but I know what my goal is this year. I’ve already played 10 games and I’m doing it at my best level. I knew the importance of this season and I didn’t want to play too little and make the appearance as my goal is to go to the Europeans.

“Going to Arsenal was an important step in my career. Those who follow the Premier League know that it is a very different league than the Spanish one and this is important because it allows me to improve physically.

“The coach is trusting me a lot and I try to restore this trust with good performances on the pitch.

“Furthermore, I am studying English three or four times a week and this is also making me grow from a communicative point of view. I’m gradually adapting to soccer and English life.

“Zidane has won three Champions and I can’t know what will happen in the future. I have 8 months to do at Arsenal and I can only thank them for their trust.

“I hope this lasts a long time.”

Back in September, I wrote a piece asking if the midfielder was falling in love with Arsenal and from his latest comments it seems like he might be.
