According to Corriere dello Sport, club director Manna has the agreement ‘in his hands.’

David would become the second summer signing for Napoli, given that Kevin De Bruyne is also expected to join the Partenopei as a free agent after the end of his contract with Manchester City.

Corriere dello Sport insists that Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis wants Antonio Conte to lead the team next season, so he’s promised the Italian tactician to build an even stronger team for 2025-26.

Gazzetta dello Sport reported earlier this week that Napoli director Manna had met with David’s entourage.

Several Italian and European clubs have been linked with the 25-year-old Canadian striker, including Juventus, Inter, Arsenal, Newcastle and Barcelona.

His contract with Lille expires on June 30, but even if he’s technically available as a free agent, his purchase may be more expensive than €30m due to signing bonuses and agent fees.
