CD Olimpia and Real Estelí meet again in the Central American Cup

MIAMI – The 2025 Central American Cup continues with CD Olimpia hosting Real Estelí in Group D on Wednesday at Estadio José de la Paz Herrera Uclés in Tegucigalpa, Honduras.
CD Olimpia returns to the Central American Cup for a third consecutive edition after winning the Clausura 2025 title. The club will seek to get out of the Group Stage for the first time after finishing third in Jorge Benguché is the club’s all-time scorer in the competition with four goals.
Los Leones look to build on a 2-0-0 start to their current season. The club is coming off a 2-nil victory over Lobos UPNFM with goals from Yustin Arboleda and Alberth Elis.
Real Estelí will seek to win the tournament after runners-up finishes in the past two editions. The Nicaraguan side boasts an 8-4-4 record in the CAC and qualified for the 2025 edition as winners of the Clausura 2025 season. Byron Bonilla is the club’s all-time scorer in the competition with four goals.
Estelí is undefeated to start its latest campaign with a 2-1-0 record. The club is coming off a 4-2 victory against ART Municipal Jalapa, in part due to a brace from Bancy Hernández.

They will face each other for the second time in the Central American Cup, after meeting in the 2023 edition on Matchday 2 of Group B on August 8, 2023, at Estadio Independencia in Estelí (NCA), where the “Tren del Norte” earned a 1-0 win with a header goal from Harold Medina.
