Edinson Cavani has revealed the quality of Manchester United's team was partly why he chose to stay at the club.
The 34-year-old penned a one-year extension with United after being heavily linked with a return to South America with Boca Juniors.
While he plans to return to the continent, Cavani wanted to have one more season at Old Trafford.
Speaking ahead of Uruguay's Copa America match against Argentina on Friday night, Cavani said: "I decided to play there for one more year. I think there's a good team which is one reason to stay.
"There were negotiations. My brother (and agent) had some chats ... things that happen in football, they're normal.
"There's nothing certain, but I think at some point I'll come back to South America, I'll play here."
