One opportune moment was enough for the table toppers to grind out a win inside a rocking La Bombonera. But fans first shared their current thoughts and feelings with jeers toward Edison Cavani and manager Fernando Gago.

The captain was again eager to find the net as he approaches almost one month without a goal. However, the 38-year-old made different headlines after missing a sitter in front of an open net.

Instead, the scoring responsibility fell to Milton Giménez. The striker pounced on a rebounded effort with less than 10 minutes on the clock.

Rosario midfielder Lautaro Giaccone almost drew level just after the hour mark but his effort fell short and the hosts were sweating. Hoping to relieve some pressure, Cavani was again provided a chance in front of goal but missed a second time.

The slim margin of victory will lift some stress off manager Gago, but only temporarily. Reports from ESPN on Friday claimed Boca's board could decide on his future over the weekend.

Despite the current nerves, the club holds on tightly to their first place position in the table. Boca currently have a two-point lead over Estudiantes, Tigre and Argentinos Juniors, who all play this weekend.
