MIAMI – Cavalier FC hosts Moca FC in the second leg of their semifinals series in the 2024 Concacaf Caribbean Cup on Wednesday at National Stadium in Kingston, Jamaica.
The clubs will meet for a third time in the Caribbean Cup. The two sides played to a scoreless draw in the first leg. Cavalier FC won 3-0 in the first encounter in Group A of the 2023 edition with a hat trick from Shaniel Thomas at Sabina Park in Kingston, Jamaica.
Dwayne Atkinson led all players in the opening encounter with two shots on target. Goalkeepers Miguel Báez and Vino Barclett led their defensive lines with clean sheet efforts.
Cavalier FC achieved the runner-up position in the 2023 edition and seeks to return to the final for a consecutive year. With 27 goals across the two editions, it stands as the team with the best offensive power in the history of the tournament.
Moca FC is also seeking redemption after getting eliminated in the semifinals of the 2023, 3-2 on penalties, to eventual champion SV Robinhood of Suriname. The Dominican Republic side is unbeaten in the 2024 edition with three wins and two draws.
The winner on aggregate will advance to the Caribbean Cup Final and clinch a berth in the 2025 Concacaf Champions Cup. In the case of another scoreless draw, extra time and penalties (if necessary) will decide the winner.
