Samu Castillejo posted a thank you message on Instagram, perhaps hinting at a goodbye, while Franck Kessié gave a special salute yesterday.

The 19th Scudetto of Milan was won thanks to everyone: those who played more and those who played less. Everyone took a part in the campaign and played their role in helping Milan make history.

One of those who was barely used this term is Samu Castillejo. In the summer he seemed sure to leave, but he ended up staying and winning the title with the club he’s supported forever.

“I don’t know where to start, or maybe I do: thanking all of you,” he wrote on Instagram today. “I have experienced everything in these 4 years, beautiful moments and also less beautiful moments. As you know this year I haven’t played as much as I would have liked, but I’ve been here for my teammates and for my family, always available, with a smile and the desire to work. To cheer on these colors as a kid and then win a title, I think it’s unimaginable. THANK YOU ALL!”

Castillejo has one year on his contract and it’s expected that he’ll leave this summer. Another player who is certain to leave as well is Franck Kessié. The Ivory Coast midfielder is on an expiring contract and last night he gave his final salute to the fans, scoring in the 3-0 win over Sassuolo to win the title. “This is my first trophy and it is very important. It’s a special salute, after 5 years at Milan and 8 in Italy – I won and I’m very excited,” Franck told Sky Italia after the game.

Alexis Saelemaekers, meanwhile, will stay and fight for his place, as Milan are expected to bring in a new right winger. He, in any case, was over the moon last night: “It’s a happiness that I can’t describe. We fought all year, now we have the title in our hands. It’s true, we worked a lot, but we have a united group and today we proved it.”
