The 30-year-old will arrive with a wealth of experience having been at the Bernabeu since 2013.

In that time, he’s won three La Liga titles and five Champions Leagues.

He’s set to be one of the club’s highest earners as Erik ten Hag looks to fix the midfield issues at the club.

But will Casemiro be the answer?

Well if he can replicate what he’s done at Real Madrid in the last nine years, the answer is a very firm ‘yes.’

But will he suit the Premier League?

Not everyone coming from foreign leagues can cope with the speed and intensity of English football.

But a thread is going viral on Twitter that suggests Casemiro will be just fine thank you very much.

The thread contains a series of videos containing individual highlights of the midfielder against English sides and is captioned: “Casemiro having PL clubs for breakfast.”

Let’s take a look at each individual performance:

Casemiro vs Chelsea (Champions League 21/22)

Benzema’s hat-trick may have stolen the headlines but Casemiro was brilliant during Real Madrid’s 3-1 victory at Stamford Bridge last season. The midfielder stopped the likes of Mason Mount and Christian Pulisic having any real impact on the match as Real established a first leg victory in the quarter-finals.

Casemiro vs Liverpool (Champions League 20/21)

A season previously, Real Madrid led Liverpool 3-1 from the first leg in the quarter finals. They travelled to Anfield knowing they would have to withstand heavy pressure from Jurgen Klopp’s side. But with Casemiro in their side, Real repelled anything that Liverpool threw at them. The midfielder broke up play on numerous occasions and beat Liverpool’s press with his ability in possession. The second leg finished 0-0.

Casemiro vs Liverpool (Champions League 21/22)

The Champions League final. Casemiro’s performance may be overshadowed by Vinicius Jr’s winner but the midfielder was sensational in Paris. Liverpool were favourites to win the showpiece event but Casemiro more than contributed to Real’s 1-0 victory, stunting the impact of Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah and nullifying Thiago.

Casemiro vs Man Utd (Super Cup 17/18)

Real Madrid beat Manchester United 2-1 in the 2017 Super Cup and Casemiro even got himself on the scoresheet. He opened the scoring with a fine finish with his left foot after getting in behind United’s defence – showing he’s not all about tackling and passing. The goal was part of a terrific individual performance during the 90 minutes.

Casemiro vs Man City (Champions League 21/22)

Back to last season and this mental clash between Real Madrid and Man City. The Spanish club, incredibly, beat City 3-1 after extra time to progress to the final. Rodrygo’s late brace and Benzema’s match-winner got the credit but Casemiro quietly went about his work. He certainly had his hands full with Kevin De Bruyne, Bernardo Silva, Phil Foden and Riyad Mahrez all floating around but hepled to restrict them to just one goal.
