With Neymar still injured, Casemiro will take the captain’s armband for Brazil when they face Panama on Saturday.

The game will be the first Neymar has missed with the Seleção in 12 months.

After last summer’s World Cup, the PSG forward was named Brazil’s permanent captain.

Though 34-year-old defender Miranda is set to start against Panama, the armband will go to Casemiro as Tite indicates that age doesn’t dictate the squad’s hierarchy.

Casemiro, 27, has captained Brazil once before, in a World Cup qualifier against Bolivia.
