Casemiro recently attended a presser for Brazil, just a few days before the Selecao take on Switzerland in their group game.

The ex-Real Madrid player talked about his former teammates Eder Militao, Toni Kroos and Luka Modric while healing the likes of Rodrygo and Vinicius Junior.

Talking about his desired partner in midfield, the Brazilian international joked about playing with Modric and Kroos once again. “Who I’d rather play in midfield with? Modrić and Toni Kroos,” he said, as quoted by MARCA.

Although Casemiro left Real Madrid in the summer, he is sharing the Brazil team with many of his former teammates at the Bernabeu. He praised some of them such as Vinicius and Rodrygo, both of who are set to play pivotal roles in the attack, following the injury of Neymar.

“It’s always an advantage to have Militão, Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo with you,” said Casemiro, who hailed Rodrygo, in particular. “It’s a pleasure to watch Rodrygo play. Whenever he touches the ball, something special happens. If you love football, you love Rodrygo,” he added.

The Manchester United midfielder went on to add more insight about Brazil’s potential solution in the right-back position, especially after the injury of Danilo. He made a special reference to Eder Militao.

“Militão can play RB. He played there before. I’m not going to say who (will play RB), but that player is training well,” he said.

Danilo picked up an ankle injury during Brazil’s opening game and will subsequently miss the nation’s remaining group games. With Casemiro hinting at Militao potentially operating in the position, it will be interesting to see Tite’s team selection ahead of the upcoming game against Switzerland.
