The Red Devils got off to a flying start, as newly crowned skipper Yannick Carsco pounced on a scramble at the edge of the box to fire home the opener in record time.

But the early sparks would not continue into the rest of the opening 45 minutes as both sides failed to create any big chances before the break.

It was much of the same after the restart. Belgium looked to double their lead and put the game to bed but some poor finishing in front of goal kept Serbia within one.

The friendly appeared to be just that in the dying minutes, as neither side left second gear to find another goal.
