She may have over 100 Scottish caps, but that mattered little for Caroline Weir when she lined up for Real Madrid against Celtic, and many international teammates, in the Women’s Champions League.
It took the former Hibernian star just seven minutes to open the scoring with a brilliant strike.
Weir, who was called an inspiration by Amy Gallacher in the build up to the game, got the ball on the right-hand side and curled it past Kelsey Daugherty from just outside the box.
Having missed almost a year with a serious knee injury, Weir has now added to her return to the Scotland camp with a strike against many of the players she will line up with next week.
