West Brom secured the signing of Fulham midfielder Nathaniel Chalobah on Deadline Day, with the midfielder penning down an 18-month contract at The Hawthorns.
Baggies boss Carlos Corberan expects the new addition to bring “quality” and “competition for places” to the Midlands club as they continue to chase down a play-off spot.
The 28-year-old has managed just four appearances from the bench for the Cottagers this season in the Premier League, after managing 11 starts last time out as Fulham raced to the Championship title.
Sharing his thoughts on Chalobah and his move to The Hawthorns, Carlton Palmer told Football League World: “It’s a fantastic signing.
“They’ve got him on an 18-month contract. He played 20 games last season for Fulham, in the side that got promoted to the Premier League.
“They’re right bang in the race for a play-off place and it’s whether you can get up from a play-off spot.

“He is a very combative midfield player and I think it’s good business.”
Corberan was evidently in the market to bolster his midfield options and he has managed to pick up someone who ticks a lot of boxes.
As Palmer alludes to, he is a determined and combative midfield operator who can thrive out of possession, whilst he has the passing range and composure to meet the on-the-ball demands.
A player who will help drive competition and performance levels at The Hawthorns, at an exciting time to join the club, he will be hoping to cement a regular spot in Corberan’s starting XI.
Also managing to add Marc Albrighton, it is fair to say that it was a positive end to the window for the Spaniard and his West Brom side.
