Los Angeles FC striker Carlos Vela has an offer to join Barcelona in January.
At least that’s according to LA Galaxy midfielder Jonathan Dos Santos, who has revealed that the Mexico international could be poised to sign for the Blaugrana next month.
Dos Santos and Vela have been team mates on the international stage in the past and it is thought that the Catalan club could look for a back-up to Luis Suárez in the winter window.
Vela would seemingly fit the bill in that respect, having netted 38 goals in all competitions in 2019.
“It’s true that he has that offer on the table and I honestly don’t know what he is going to do,” Dos Santos, a youth product of Barcelona, told Colombian radio station W Radio.
“He is very happy in Los Angeles, with his team. It’s a unique opportunity the fact that Barcelona wants him, it’s the best team in the world. As a Mexican I hope that it can happen for him.”
Barcelona were interested in signing Vela last January but signed Kevin-Prince Boateng instead on a short-term deal.
