West Brom boss Carlos Corberan has revealed he is hoping to bring in at least one new player before the deadline.
The Spaniard has transformed Albion since taking over, with most of the current squad improving their levels under his coaching.
As a result, the Baggies were never going to be very busy this month and that has proven to be the case, as Corberan focuses on maintaining the standards they have set recently.
However, Albion are still in the market for a midfielder and Corberan made it clear to the Express & Star that he expects a new addition in that department, whilst he also wouldn’t rule out further business in the final few days.
“We are still looking for the player or the players that we think can help us to improve. I know that the market, especially this one, is not easy.
“I know the club is making all the effort that they can, and they still need the time. We have some days left to see if we can make the improvements that we are going to be looking to make. Right now, I think there is one main position we need to cover. We have the possibility after that to look at alternative positions.”

The verdict
The pleasing thing for West Brom is that they aren’t in a desperate situation right now because Corberan has a good squad and he has most of them playing to their full potential – as proven by results since he came in.
Nevertheless, there are always ways to improve and he seems confident of getting in at least one new recruit before the deadline.
Of course, things can happen very quickly in the market, so it will be interesting to see if anything else occurs in the coming days.
