Liga MX president Mikel Arriola announced Carlos Acevedo as the 26th and final player joining the roster ahead of the All-Star match against Major League Soccer.

The Santos Laguna goalkeeper was chosen by Arriola to represent the Mexican league in the match on August 10 at Allianz Field in St. Paul, Minnesota.

"My friends, last Tuesday we met the 25 players who will make up the Liga BBVA MX team to face the MLS stars on August 10 in Minnesota. Today I have the pleasure of presenting player number 26, who will complete the squad in search of revenge. He is a young leader, with great ability and, above all, with a huge future. He is Carlos Acevedo, goalkeeper of Club Santos Laguna , who joins our team of Liga BBVA MX stars.” he announced.

Acevedo now joins goalkeepers Camilo Vargas and Oscar Ustari on the team, led by Atlas FC head coach Diego Cocca.

Previously announced All-Star figures William Tesillo and Andre-Pierre Gignac will no longer be making the trip to Minnesota, as the Leon figure suffered an injury and the Tigres striker is not vaccinated against Covid-19.

This is the second consecutive time that Liga MX will face Major League Soccer in the All-Star game, after the 2021 match up that saw the American league take the trophy when winning 3-2 in penalties.
