Carles Puyol is set to join Andorra, according to Diari d’Andorra. His arrival will soon be made official with a position at the club yet to be defined.

Mundo Deportivo report that he could work alongside sporting director Jaume Nogués. The 45-year-old former FC Barcelona defender had a brief experience with a similar job at Camp Nou during the first six months of the 2014-15 season but resigned in January 2015 when Andoni Zubizarreta, his superior at the time, was dismissed.

Gerard Piqué, Andorra’s maximum shareholder and president of Kosmos, will have played a role in the appointment. Puyol was seen on a couple of occasions at the team’s training sessions, including during the session prior to the recent Second Division clash against Cartagena, when he spoke with head coach, Eder Sarabia, and the aforementioned Nogués. He was also seen at the Estadio Nacional in the last training session before traveling to Leganés to play the first match of the new Segunda season.
