“Did I expect to play more for Barca? I expected to play less after the injury at the beginning of the season, but I have played many minutes and I am very happy.”

Aleñá has taken advantage of his opportunities and wowed many fans and pundits.

In addition to 10 LaLiga appearances, Aleñá has been able to showcase his talents in the Copa del Rey, featuring in six of their eight matches so far, including a 14-minute cameo in their 1-1 semi-final first-leg draw against Real Madrid.

Now the youngster says Barcelona are eying the treble.

“We do very well in La Liga and we are in the Copa del Rey final. The main goal is the Champions League. This year we have that goal in mind.”

As for playing with Lionel Messi, Aleñá admits he’s still very much star-struck.

“You do not get used to training with Messi every day.”
