Cardiff City are set to sign Sory Kaba from Danish side Midtjylland in a bid to boost their survival hopes.

The Bluebirds made the decision to appoint Sabri Lamouchi as Mark Hudson’s successor and the new boss hinted that they would be busy before the deadline, with a striker known to be the priority.

And, according to reporter Matteo Moretto, the Welsh side are on course to win the race to sign the 27-year-old target man.

“Sory Kaba is about to accept a good offer from Cardiff. In the last hours there were other contacts with Anderlecht, but if nothing goes wrong, the Midtjylland striker will end up playing in the Championship. ”

Kaba has had a tough time in his latest spell with Midtjylland, scoring just two goals in 16 league games this season.

However, he was an important player after joining in 2019, scoring 18 goals in 57 games across two seasons which included helping them to win the league in his first campaign.

The Guinea international had a spell in between the two spells in Belgium with Leuven, where he netted ten times.

This would be an exciting signing for Cardiff as Kaba is a real physical presence who can bring others into play and he has a decent goalscoring record overall in his career.

Everyone knows the Bluebirds need a number nine and he could be a real focal point and key to the way that Lamouchi wants to play.

So, it would be good business if they can get this one over the line on what is an important day for Cardiff as they look to improve the group.
