Cardiff City manager Neil Harris expects Jordi Osei-Tutu to miss at least the next four-to-six weeks of football with a hamstring injury.

As we covered earlier in the week, Jordi Osei-Tutu picked up his second injury in consecutive games over the weekend.

The right-back hobbled off the previous week against Preston North End, missed the midweek game, before returning to the starting lineup against Middlesbrough. Once again, he picked up an injury and couldn’t complete the 90 minutes.

The update isn’t quite so positive this time around. Cardiff boss Neil Harris claims the injury is “not a great one”, and gives a worrying update about the timeframe of Osei-Tutu’s absence.

“We are not going to see him certainly in the next four to six weeks,” Harris said. “He is going to be a loss for us because he was just starting to show what a good player he is going to be.”

The BBC add that the problem is a hamstring injury this time around. We never got any information about the first setback, which raises the question of whether it was also a more minor hamstring problem.

It’s certainly a little suspicious that the defender picks up a serious injury so soon after a more minor one. That tends to happen when you’ve been rushed back too soon.

It’s a real shame, as the 22-year-old started every game of his loan spell before the injury. He was clearly in favour with the manager, and the fans were really warming to him after his most recent performances.

They just need to be careful not to overplay him again when he returns.
