Serie A returns after the international break and Juventus Women are on the road in Rome in the Poule Scudetto this weekend. Kick-off in the capital is set for 11:30 CEST on Sunday morning.

Ahead of the trip south, coach Massimiliano Canzi spoke to preview the game against the Giallorosse.

A LOOK AT THE SQUAD

“It’s clear that the more players you have of a high level, the more you risk having them pick up injuries on international duty. It’s a pity, of course, because we can’t have them with us in Rome, but we know these things can happen. That’s just one side of the coin, though, because this international break has brought positives for a lot of the other players. For example, Cristiana [Girelli] scored a great goal for Italy.”

THE GAME AGAINST ROMA

“There are just four games left between now and the end of the season, and we have a good lead that we would have expected to have at the beginning of the season. I’m used to looking forward, though, even if a bit of reflection can help you to avoid making the same mistakes that have already been made. We’ve dropped a lot of points in stoppage time during the Poule Scudetto, and that means that we’ve done well until that point but there’s a need to close out games better. We need to have that bit more cynicism, but I repeat that we haven’t been lacking good performances.”

A FRUITFUL ACADEMY

“I think [Anna] Copelli, [Marta] Zamboni, and [Greta] Bellagente signing their first professional contracts this week is further evidence of the work being done in the youth sector here, which is leading the way in development and scouting, with particular reference to the Primavera team with whom we collaborate every day. Coach [Marco] Bruzzano and all of his staff are doing really good work, just like all of the underage sides are. This excellent work allows the club to operate sustainably, which is fundamental in today’s game. I think the ability to develop players internally is a great way to have that attachment and affinity to the shirt, but it’s also important on an economic level as well.”

THE DERBY D’ITALIA AT THE ALLIANZ STADIUM

“We’re obviously very happy and grateful to the club for giving us the chance to close out the league season at the Allianz Stadium, taking on Inter, and we’ll have to repay that faith that they’re showing. For now, though, we’re thinking about the next game against Roma. I reiterate that we are pleased, but we have to keep thinking about things one game at a time, as we’ve been saying since the beginning of the season.”
