Cannavaro: Juventus knew what they were doing hiring Pirlo
Tribal Football
Juventus great Fabio Cannavaro has defended former teammate Andrea Pirlo over his time in charge this season.
Juve meet Napoli with fourth place up for grabs this week. It's been claimed Pirlo will be sacked should they lose.
Guangzhou Evergrande Cannavaro told Gazzetta dello Sport: "When Juve chose Pirlo they knew that he had no experience and it is logical that he needs time.
"He also did good things, betting on young people. He was wrong in others, but he is human.
"It was the journalists who talked about 'Pirlolandia' when he had just started.
"If Juve kicks him out, they're wrong twice. It can't just be his fault if the players are wrong on and off the pitch."
