Canaries sign Serbian international Mirko Topic | OneFootball

Norwich City have announced the signing of Serbian international midfielder Mirko Topic.

The 24-year-old joins the Canaries from Portuguese side Famalicão after two seasons with the club in which Topic played 69 games, scoring once.

"Mirko brings a different profile to our midfield cohort and we’re delighted he’s joining Norwich City," said sporting director Ben Knapper about the club's new recruit.

"We have been following him closely for over 18 months so we’re excited he’s finally here.

“He has an imposing, commanding stature, is a fantastic athlete and brings elite defensive attributes that will be invaluable for us.

“We’re convinced he’ll complement the rest of our squad really well and we’re all looking forward to seeing what we can achieve together with him, this season and beyond."

Topic has signed a four-year deal with the Championship side with the option of a further season.

Norwich's signing of Topic is the second from Portugal this summer following the arrival of Vladan Kovacevic from Sporting CP.
