Mohamed Salah has been in impressive form for Liverpool this season, leading their bid to bounce back from a disappointing 2022/23 campaign.

The 31-year-old scored in their most recent game against LASK in the Europa League – his 199th goal for the Merseyside outfit.

He is now aiming to become the fifth player in the club’s history to score 200 goals when the Reds welcome Fulham to Anfield on Sunday.

Salah was struggling for goals at this stage last season, scoring just three times in his first 13 Premier League outings.

However, he subsequently notched 19 league goals to top the club’s scoring charts.

Salah has continued in the same vein this season, netting ten goals in the opening 13 league games.

He is now just one goal behind Manchester City’s Erling Haaland in the Premier League Golden Boot race.

However, the Egyptian could overtake the City striker for the prestigious award this season.

Haaland quickly claimed the Golden Boot award last term, bagging 36 goals to set a new Premier League record.

Only Harry Kane gave him some competition as he finished second with 30 goals for Tottenham Hotspur.

Haaland has made a spectacular start this season, averaging more than a goal per Premier League match.

But by this stage last term, the Norwegian had already smashed 17 with three hat-tricks to his name.

There is no suggestion that his levels have dropped, but the 23-year-old was completely unstoppable last season.

Haaland will likely end up winning the Golden Boot, but Salah undoubtedly has the ability to topple him.
