Jude Bellingham told to snub transfer to Manchester United for Liverpool

Speaking via BettingOdds.com via the Express (h/t BirminghamLive), Glen Johnson opened up about how a transfer to Liverpool would benefit Jude Bellingham as compared to other clubs chasing his signature, which includes Manchester United.

Apart from the Red Devils and the Reds, Chelsea and Manchester City have also taken an interest in the 18-year-old. Bellingham has made himself a regular to Borussia Dortmund after a high-profile move from Birmingham City.

And now, he has caught the interest of some of the Premier League giants. But according to Johnson, who has played for both Chelsea and Liverpool, believes that Jurgen Klopp’s side would be better for Bellingham’s development.

“I’d probably say Liverpool. Even though Liverpool do have superstar players, they also have a smaller squad and they don’t have those superstar players sitting on their bench banging the door down, so it’s easier to keep the squad happy.”

What next for Jude?

Johnson, who won the Premier League with Chelsea back in 2005 and was a key part of Liverpool’s starting XI in the early 2010s, believes that Bellingham should be wary of the different degrees of pressure he will be put under.

“If Jude was to make the move to Liverpool then I believe they can nurture him better than his other suitors and will give him more time as that’s what he will need.”

Being one of the biggest clubs in the world, Man United players are constantly under the microscope. But Bellingham can take inspiration from the stories of young talent coming through and making themselves into first-team regulars.

Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood, two of Bellingham’s international teammates, are the most recent example of that.
