Arsenal and Liverpool meet this weekend in what will be the biggest test for Mikel Arteta this season so far but what is their head-to-head record like?

Mikel Arteta has had the beating of Jurgen Klopp’s men in their last two meetings although I’m not sure anyone is expecting this weekend’s game against Liverpool to be a third in a row for the Gunners.

Arsenal and Liverpool have a long history, first meeting back in 1893 when Woolwich Arsenal were thumped 5-0 by the Scousers. Let’s hope that’s not an omen of things to come, although the number ‘5’ has certainly featured heavily in the history of this fixture.
