Former Burkina Faso international (82 caps, 19 goals), Jonathan Pitroipa believes his country has what it takes to be the dark horse at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, set to take place in Morocco from December 21, 2025 to January 18, 2026.

The former Stade Rennais winger shared his confidence in an interview with Afrik-foot.

We are going to give it our all. Burkina Faso is a legitimate contender for the ultimate title. We have excellent players in every position.

The Ouagadougou native also highlighted the importance of preparation to achieve this goal.

Today, Burkina Faso is undeniably a major force in African football. With optimal preparation, we have the potential to cause an upset and challenge the favorites.

The Stallions will compete in Group E at CAN 2025, where they will face Equatorial Guinea (December 24), Algeria (December 28), and Sudan (December 31).
