Campbell: I’d rather have Arteta than Nagelsmann as manager after big Tottenham development

Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta is a superior manager to mooted Tottenham boss Julian Nagelsmann.
That is according to Gunners legend Kevin Campbell, speaking exclusively after Football Insider revealed that Spurs had made contact with the 33-year-old.
The RB Leipzig manager is Spurs’ number one choice to replace Jose Mourinho, who was dismissed on Monday after 17 months at the helm.
Nagelsmann is regarded as one of Europe’s hottest managerial prospects after spearheading Leipzig’s run to the Champions League semi-finals in 2019-20.
Arteta meanwhile is overseeing an Arsenal side who are by no mean guaranteed a top-half finish this season.
But Arteta’s FA Cup triumph last season puts him clear of Nagelsmann, according to Campbell.
He told Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs: “Naglesman is a good young manager but the Premier League has got loads of quality managers and teams.
“He plays vibrant football but the bottom line is trophies – he hasn’t won any yet. That’s the whole point. I don’t know if he can take them to the next level.
“That criticism got levelled at Arteta but he won an FA Cup within six months. He’s a novice but look what he’s done.
“Naglesmann has built a good reputation but could he do it with Spurs? Could he take on the power teams? I honestly don’t know.”
Nagelsmann’s RB Leipzig flirted with ending Bayern Munich’s monopoly in the Bundesliga this season.
But, while they still retain 2nd place in the division, they have fallen 10 points behind the Bavarian giants
