We looked at how midfielder Callum O'Hare's wages have changed since his move to Sheffield United from Coventry City.

Midfielder Callum O'Hare made a surprise move to Sheffield United on a free transfer this summer after his departure from Coventry City.

Much to the disappointment of Coventry supporters, O'Hare left the CBS Arena after turning down the offer of a new contract, bringing his successful five-year spell at the club to an end, during which time he helped them to the League One title, a Championship play-off final and an FA Cup semi-final.

It would no doubt have been a tough decision for O'Hare to reject a new deal with the Sky Blues, and he posted an emotional farewell message to the club in July, writing on X: "Thank you for everything, taking me in as soon as I came through the door & giving me some of the best moments & memories of my life.

"Thank you for the special connection we created together & singing my song every single game & most importantly. Thank you for being you.""Thank you for everything, taking me in as soon as I came through the door & giving me some of the best moments & memories of my life."

Having enjoyed the best season of his career last term following his return from a serious knee injury, there was no shortage of interest in O'Hare after he became a free agent, with Leeds United, Southampton, Burnley, Celtic and Rangers all said to have been keen, while three La Liga clubs reportedly watched him in action earlier in the year.

However, it was Sheffield United who won the race for his signature, with O'Hare signing a four-year contract at Bramall Lane in July, and he has been a regular starter for Chris Wilder's side so far this season, although he has not yet been able to produce his best form in a Blades shirt.

As O'Hare continues to settle into life in South Yorkshire, we looked at how the 26-year-old's wages have changed since joining United from Coventry this summer.

According to Capology, O'Hare receives £15,000 per week and £780,000 per year at Sheffield United, although it should be stressed that those figures are an estimate.

O'Hare's wages at Bramall Lane are a big increase on what he was earning at Coventry, where he was estimated to take home £10,000 per week and £520,000 per year.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given that he is the club's record signing, striker Rhian Brewster is the Blades' top earner, receiving £35,000 per week and £1,820,000 per year, while Gustavo Hamer, Vinicius Souza, Tom Davies and Anel Ahmedhodzic are all said to be taking home £30,000 per week and £1,560,000 per year.

It seems likely that O'Hare would have been offered an improved contract by Coventry in an attempt to keep him at the club, but United's significantly higher wage bill underlines the financial advantage they have over the Sky Blues.

O'Hare may have had a slow start to life at Bramall Lane on an individual level, but the fact he has retained his place in the starting line-up every week highlights the faith Wilder has in him, and he will be hoping to rediscover his form over the coming months and help his new club to an immediate return to the Premier League.
