Callum Hudson-Odoi is enjoying a great start to life in the Bundesliga, and has been nominated for the league’s rookie of the month award for September.

His spell at Bayer Leverkusen is off to a bright start already, with impressive performances coming off the wings and causing havoc.

Rather than the silly Premier League “young player of the month” award which sees players 5 years into their career still able to win the award, the Bundesliga version applies to players in their first season in the division.

Hudson-Odoi’s loan has made a great start to things, and at this rate it’s easy to see him not wanting to come back to Chelsea in January, even if they recall him.

Finally he’s getting regular minutes with the confidence of his coach. The brutal truth is that he will likely be regretting not making the move to the Bundesliga all those years ago.
